For over 25 years, I have been guided by a quote from Andreas Feininger that has shaped my approach to photography to this day:
Any good photograph is a successful synthesis of technique and art.

In the beginning, it was primarily the technique that inspired me. Today, the second part of the quote is becoming more and more important to me: the art.
I’m interested in what a picture can express – how it works, touches, tells a story. I love experimenting, whether digital or analogue; fine art, lomography, instant photography and much, much more.
I teach beginners‘ courses in photography at the VHS Hunsrück. There I try to pass on my enthusiasm and convey the fun of photography.
In addition to photography, I have been painting abstract pictures with acrylic paints on canvas for a few years now. This is also a way for me to make my thoughts visible – sometimes wild, sometimes calm.
